My Experience

A career in advertising, direct marketing, research and brand consultancy has provided experience working across many sectors, helping organisations and brands build stronger customer relationships. From Lego to Levi’s. From Virgin Holidays to VisitScotland. From Strongbow to the Scottish Government.

I've also got particular depth in financial services, professional services, B2B and the investment sector.  Working for many legal and professional services firms and for many clients within the FS space. These include Baillie Gifford, Lloyds Banking Group, Aegon, Legg Mason, Cater Allen, Alliance Trust, James Hay, Halifax Intermediaries, Santander, Scottish Widows, Sainsbury's Bank and Vanguard. 

If there's a core skill I've gained across sectors, it's the ability to identify 'actionable' insight - stuff that can deepen or enrich the relationship a brand has with its customers.

What I do at TMI

I draw on the research, facilitation and analysis skills I've built up working across clients and sectors to help unearth and develop ways to enhance the whole customer experience - from arm’s length communications to 1-2-1 or physical interactions.

What do I bring to Clients

I like to think I bring a good balance. Energetic, committed in helping clients tackle customer experience challenges. Enthusiasm and curiosity matter in an arena that involves generating ideas and initiatives. But not all ideas will be appropriate. I think I'm experienced enough to have a nose for where the real solutions and substance lies.

When I'm not working

Two sporty teenage sons keep me busy on taxi and touchline duties - not least as I help coach a youth football team one of them plays for. My one minute of fame is as a BBC Eggheads contestant (we lost) but I'm more normal than that and can share a beer and a laugh with almost anyone.
