Can you ‘ear’ me now?

Can you ‘ear’ me now?

We recently spotted this great sound level meter device in Ipswich hospital which helps staff and patients control sound on the ward. SoundEar® is a noise indicator that emits a visual alarm signal (see image) when a previously set noise level is surpassed in a room. If the sound level is acceptable, i.e. below the selected limit, the sound level meter illuminates the image of an ear in green. A yellow ear symbol indicates that the sound level is close to the limit value and when the sign turns red, the limit has been exceeded. A great device to help take immediate action without somebody having to ask people to be quiet thus removing any embarrassment from the complainer/noisy person.
